BabyLuna is a family business that just loves to create cute baby gifts.

It all started in 2003 when it seemed like everyone I knew was pregnant.  Rather than head to a big-box store and buy whatever was on their registry, I decided to give them something a little more personal.  I didn't have much experience but my mom has owned a sewing store since I was a little girl so I knew she would help me create something special in her sewing room.  We spent hours handmaking blankets and burp cloths, personalizing with the baby's name, selecting thread colors and wondering why I never learned to do this when I was growing up.

Of course all the gifts were a great hit and I quickly started getting request from my friends to make one for their friends.  I was happy to do it because I enjoyed working with my mom and liked helping my friends.  But, I never dreamed of going into business on my own.  That all changed in 2004 when I found out I was pregnant with our daughter (Gwen).  Suddenly I didn't want to leave for work anymore.  I needed to find something that I can do from home, with the flexibility around midnight feedings and afternoon naps.  It took a little convincing for my husband to be the webmaster and handle all the techie stuff, but before we knew it we had the site up and running.  Our very first order came in the day after our daughter was born.

Fast forward past a new professional embroidery machine, two websites and the birth of our son (Frank).  We've added bibs, burp cloths and onesies.  I dont make the blankets myself anymore but I personally sew the embroidery and inspect every order before it's shipped.  I make sure the embroidery is perfect and that the entire package is up to my standards.  Keep in mind - this is the gift I give my very best friends and my family.
